| Canadian Equestrian Community Loses Long-time Mentor and Volunteer |
| The Canadian equestrian community is saddened to announce the loss of a long-time member, mentor, official, volunteer and past-president, Alfred “Alf” Fletcher, 77, of Westbank, BC.
A member of Equine Canada for many years, Alf was an Equine Canada (EC) Senior National and Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) steward. He was accredited as a FEI—X steward for the disciplines of Jumper and Dressage, and he was a Senior Steward for all Equine Canada disciplines. |

| Ponoka Stampede Chuckwagon Race Results |
| The finals of the Ponoka Stampede Championship wrapped up on Wednesday night and a new champion emerged from the sudden death final. It was a spectacular chuckwagon race and Obrey Motowylo, driving the H & E Oilfield Services outfit, and along with outriders Kris Flanagan, Shawn Calf Robe, Ryan McAleney and Logan James won the Tommy Dorchester $50,000.00 Sudden Death Championship Final Heat and his first Ponoka Stampede Championship. It was also the first career show championship win for Motowylo. |

Canada's Greatest Horseman Crowned
Canada's Greatest Horseman competition wrapped up November 4th at Farmfair in Edmonton, with John Swales capturing the coveted title aboard Genuine Whiz Kid, owned by Peter Doig. The High River, Alberta trainer earned a total of $3,235, with a tie in the High Point Steer Stop assisting the overall victory. Second place was Bart Holowath on Precision Dee, earning a total of $2,860 and marking the High Fence mark. Third was Jesse Thompson aboard Bob and Debbie Clary's Smart Micro Chip, tying for the High Steer Stop and earning a total of $2,737.
