Manitoba\’s Rocking W Spring Horse Sale

The fifth annual Rocking W Spring Horse Sale took place April 20th, in the Keystone Center, at Brandon, MB. The top seller was Lot 20, consigned by Western Star Performance Horses, of Lake Lillian, MN. The 2005 AQHQ bay stallion, Shorty\’s Quixote Mac was purchased for $6250, by Thunderbird Horse Center, Brandon, MB. At this sale, Lot 1, a 2007 AQHA Sorrel Gelding, \”Regalo\” was donated by the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys MB Chapter to raise funds for the Winnipeg Children\’s Hospital. Regalo was purchased by Lorraine Dupont of Lac DuBonnet, MB, for $4000.00. The overall sale average was $2000 and the top ten averaged $3850.

This fall the Rocking W Ranch will host their 27th Annual Horse Sale in September, held in conjunction with the Northern Lights Futurity and Derby. Last year\’s sale saw 145 horses sold to Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec and Nova Scotia.
