The American Quarter Horse Region One Championships brought Quarter Horse competitors from it’s affiliates to the Thunderbird Show Park in B.C.’s Fraser Valley. For the second year in a row, from July 20-24, 1213 competitors from Alaska, British Columbia, Idaho, Oregon and Washington State Quarter Horse Associations competed for the 2011 class titles at B.C.’s west coast.
Open Champion went to Winkin for Chocolate, shown by Katherine Harcastle. Reserve Champion went to One Hot Loper, a 2005 sorrel gelding shown by Washington’s Lauren Uhrish.
Hez Talk of the Town shown by Yelaina May of Roberts Creek BC, took home the Champion Amateur title and the Reserve Champion went to Langley’s Muddys Mr Diamond and Norma Siebert.
Snohomish, Washington’s Cindy Nakahara with A Screamin Zippo took the Select Champion title and A Little Reality and Carole Walton cinched the win for Reserve Select.
Bellingham, Washington showgirl, Kimbery Servoss celebrated her birthday July 22, with her 12-year-old bay gelding A Little Two Deluxe, taking home the Novice Amateur Champion award. Nicole Barker and her horse One Hot Goods, took the Reserve Novice Amateur title.
Amanda Daly of Kamloops, BC took home the Champion 13 and Under class with her horse Olena San Star, while Coolest Jacky, rode by Laura Forbes brought home the Reserve.
The Champion 14-18 class was won by Macs Goodbar Seeker and Tamara Barker of Kamloops, BC. While the Reserve 14-18 went to Katrina Mulford and her horse Zippos Star Shuttle, also from Kamloops.
Champion Novice 13 and Under went to Redmond Washington’s, Charlotte Selby and her horse A Lil Bit Lethal. Cottage Grove Oregon\’s Looks Inviting shown and owned by Josephine Mootz took home the Reserve title.
Invitation to Ride and Ahsha Mootz won the Champion Novice 14-18 title and Reserve went to Docs Royal Doulton and Rachael Nordby.
The Champion All Breed 13 and Under went to Dressed to Jet and Jessica Grodzins. Reserve title went to Crown Silver and Christina DiCarlo of Mill Bay, BC.
Justa Concideret Gal and Barbara Crosby of Washington, took the Champion All Breed 14-18 title and Reserve was won by Major Leaguer and Carly Glick.
