This past Thanksgiving weekend (October 6-9) in Ponoka, AB, saw the 2016 rendition of the CBHI Superstakes and CBHA Select Breeders Sale. With over $195,000 given away, once again the weekend was a realization that this program is headed in the right direction at an amazing pace. Since its inception, the CBHI has grown to over 200 stallions, with co-sanction events in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba; and last weekend in Ponoka boasted one of the biggest Futurity/Derby and open Barrel Racing weekends in Canada aside from the CFR – held in conjunction with one of the most popular sales in western Canada.
