Giddy Up for Charity Trail Ride

The 7th annual Saddle Strings & Heart Strings Adventure Trail Ride for the Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society, is set foot September 8. Organizers are encouraging all horse people and the public to join in the event. The staging area will be at the Highwood River Inn & Ralph Nelson Ranch, 25 kms west of Longview, Alberta.

For those who are interested in partaking in the trail ride, the cost is $150 for adults & $75 for children (12 years and younger); Walk &/or Wagon Rides are $75 per person from 11 am – 9:00 pm at the staging area across from the Highwood River Inn. There will be a BBQ and evening festivities to follow, the cost is $50 for Adults & $10 for Children (12 years and younger).

“This is our 7^th annual charity Adventure Ride and we’re encouraging all horse ride enthusiasts along with local businesses to be part of our signature fund raising event”, said Danna Ormstrup, Executive Director, Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society.  “It’s a fantastic day for a walk, wagon ride or horse back adventure in ranch country at the base of Mt. Head 25 kms west of Longview Alberta.  Guides and Wranglers will ensure the safety of all the riders, as they will host each group of 10 riders.  New this year will be a walk or wagon rides for those who would like to experience the majestic beauty of the area.  Lunch on the trail, plus a BBQ dinner with all the fixin’s is included. There will be prizes for the top pledges, raffles, live and silent auction, Native dancers plus entertainment in the evening”.
