If you are a horse person, the Mane Event horse expo held in Red Deer, Alberta, this past weekend was the place to be. With over 240 trade show exhibitors, a wide plethora of clinicians and the trainer\’s challenge, there was something for every discipline and desire as the expo conducted its 6th annual event in Alberta.
Everything from Gypsy Cobs to miniature donkeys had some kind of a presence at the event, further solidifying the Mane Event as a \”one-stop shop\” for equine enthusiasts of all varieties.
And if you simply visited the trade show to shop, well, there was plenty of that available too!
This adorable little onesie and tu-tu from Cowgirl Finesse caught my eye… of course nobody in my house would fit it anymore…
But there were lots of other things around to meet my shopping fetish!
These are simply awesome… I just wonder if they would fly in the reining arena…? Cow horse arena…?
An extreme trail competition took place on Sunday at this year\’s Mane Event, judged by extreme trail clinician Mitch Hoover.
And well known Canadian trainers Jonathan Field, Jackie Johnson and Robyn Hood were joined this year by six-time Canadian Olympian Cindy Ishoy, who presented dressage clinics throughout the three days of the expo. World champion barrel racer and trainer, Chad Crider; multiple world and national champion Western Pleasure competitor and trainer Robin Gollehon; NRCHA judge and multiple champion Sandy Collier; Gaited horse specialist Elizabeth Graves; and top hunter/jumper trainer Scott Hofstetter also topped the clinician roster.
Plus, the inspirational Michael Richardson, who was left a paraplegic after a vehicle accident in 1986, also drew a large attendance on opening day for his horsemanship presentations.
Fun was had by all! Drop me a line and let me know what your favorite part of the 2012 Mane Event in Red Deer was!
