Western Horse Sales Unlimited Results

The Western Horse Sales Unlimited was conducted at Saskatoon Livestock Sales, Saskatchewan, May 6-7. Lee and Tracy Pedersen thank everyone for their assistance it making it a great sale again this year.

The top five sale average was $12,820. The 2011 High Selling Horse was consigned by Rusty Rae Quam,  Wainwright, Alberta, a 2006 gelding by Blazin Jetolena, purchased for $20,000 by Tracy Pedersen, Milestone, Saskatchewan.

The second highest sale went to a ’99 gelding finished heading horse, owned by Clinton Brost, Consul, Saskatchewan.  He was purchased by Delmar Livestock, Redcliff, Alberta, for $12,000.

Third high seller was an \’04 mare by Cheyenne Shorty, consigned by Vanessa Sproule, Pincher Creek, Alberta, and selling for $11,500 to Staden Farms Ltd., Mannville, Alberta.

Kevin and Sandra McCutcheon consigned an \’06 blue roan gelding ranch horse deluxe, which sold to $10,600 to Don Badry of  Red Deer, Alberta.

Fifth high seller was a four-year-old palomino Caught Me Lookin gelding, consigned by Getz Performance Horses and selling to Danny Braun, Admiral, Saskatchewan, for $10,000.

The top stallion was also provided by Rusty Rae Quam, an ’09 stallion by AR Missin Cash. He sold for $6,000 to Derek and Wanda Denham.

Always a popular item at this sale is the great selection of a hard-to-find item – great kid\’s horses. This year\’s top kid\’s horse was an \’04 red roan gelding by Doc A Tari which sold to Larry McCullough, Qu-appelle, Saskatchewan, for $8,200.

Top Five sale average was $12,820. Top ten average was $10,900. The total sale average was $3,162.
